My name's Tahir Shah, and I'm the author of "Our Hero Dinglebert" and "Dreams NOT For Sale".
"Our Hero Dinglebert" is the prelude to "Dreams NOT For Sale" and thousands of people have read the prelude already and I've received hundreds of comments about it!
It seems Dinglebert and his good lady Martha have really captured the hearts of many internet marketers - mainly because we can ALL relate to their struggles as Dinglebert tries and tries method after method to make money online.
So I thought I'd set this blog up to hear peoples comments about "Our Hero Dinglebert" what they found they could relate to, what they found amusing, what they found they could learn from and anything else Dinglebert related!
Of course I coined a new phrase in the ebook - "To Do A Dinglebert".
Let's hear from people about "Dingleberts" they have done, have realised they are doing from reading the book, or were about to do but thought better of it!

Okay... I'll kick start this off... Hmm... well the guaranteed hits was definitely a "Dinglebert" I did! And the anticipation and the waiting for internet millions... yep... I was Dinglebert for sure on that score. I thought the guaranteed hits would bring me thousands of dollars worth of business in... they brought zilch... ahh well... fortunately we live and learn! Let's hear some of yours!
(Bottom Line - Stay away from 10,000 or 100,000 guaranteed hits type of advertising - you'll get the hits... no signups and no sales!)

Most of us who have been around for a long time have anticipated the "internet millions" in as much as a certain "Clearing House" promised Ed McMahon to show up with a huge check.
FFA advertising will fill up your email inbox faster than a dead animal draws flys. Of all the mistakes I have made in the past I hereby announce my intentions to run for President of the Dinglebert Fan Club.

Your Dinglebert is just a total amateur when it comes to ‘doing a Dinglebert’ compared to me!….
Errr… why am I admitting that I am probably the biggest ‘Numpty’ (Dinglebert) on the internet today – maybe it will help other people……
My stats = 18 months online
Expenditure = $7,000.00 plus…..and counting!
Earnings = maybe $150.00??? (give or take a dollar!)
MLMs = (at least) 12 – sign-ups (total) = 7 (all quit)
Adsense = I have no idea – I cannot find any of my pages…!
E-books/downloads = 40Gb – at least!
Inbox = 500 daily (how many gurus are there!?)
Websites = 8 (very lonely ones!)
Hits = millions…(they tell me?)
Visitors (REAL) = not many!
I could go on – but this is embarrassing.
The thing is, is ‘Dreams NOT for Sale’ just going to be yet another electronic dust collector telling me things that I already know….?....Only one way to find out I guess… oh well, what’s another $47.00 whatever…? More pot noodles this month – AGAIN!
Hey Tahir if you are there – a challenge for you - if you and your book/info can help me make $300.00 per month within a couple of months – you send $100.00 to a charity of my choosing and I will do the same! (Don’t worry I doubt it will happen even though I promise to diligently do everything you suggest? I have heard it ALL before ‘I want to help you get rich because I am such a nice guy yadda, yadda yeah’…!
OK everyone Numpty here (cousin of Dinglebert) is going to spend his beer money for this month (sob, sob….) and clog up even more space on his over-stuffed hard drive with this latest addition to his “We have heard it all before”…”You WILL make money THIS Time!”…Oh yeah? etc virtual library.

(Oh, the only thing I ask is that you know basics like how to upload a web page - la di da... I'm guessing you do... It's tedious stuff and I really don't want to be having to do that for you! And that could come to around $500 - Don't worry, that's not going in my back pocket or through affiliate links... but on things that I tell you to do and that you will need. And at the end of it... you will have recouped that too!)

Tahir...Ive also been A Dinglebert..may times over....and your personal answer to Geoff was very refreshing. I so want to get your Dreams not for sale book,,but...I saw the figure you threw at him of $500.00 ..and it sounded as if that is going to be a prerequisite to succeed with whatever it is that you teach. Please...tell me up front...can it be done with less??

Yes it can be done for less - in fact it can be done for less than $50 - But what I want to demonstrate is the effectiveness of what I showing.
There are lots of free traffic techniques, and anyone can implement them in their own time.
However, I want to demonstrate with paid for traffic (that I recommend) that
1) The method works
2) There is no need to wait around for free traffic
3) It can be done by anyone
4) It is profitable
5) If someone can do it with my help... what stops them from doing it alone?
The main cost would be for the traffic, because without visitors I can't demonstrate anything, and I don't have the time and patience to wait for all the free traffic generation techniques (which someone can apply in their own time ) to prove my point and show Geoff or anyone else for that matter that with my techniques and what I teach it really is possible for anyone to earn a substantial online income.
I want to be able to demonstrate what I am saying and showing... the techniques and how they work...
When someone can see they make a profit with paid traffic... they'll be prepared to put the work in for the free traffic.
For demonstration purposes, paid traffic is the best method to generate traffic to a website so that is the major cost in what I put forward as the estimate.
That way I can demonstrate quickly... other people get the results and feedback quicker...
and the bottom line is a profitable campain that demonstrates how quickly it is achievable by anyone to earn $300 and above per month, month in month out.
Secondly, I would want to ensure that things are done RIGHT, straight from the outset.
So making sure that tools like an autoresponder service or anything else...
The need to be in place... and they do cost... as well as paid for website hosting and not a cheapo freebie hosting account.
Key investments for any online business, and if you are going to do something... might as well do it properly from the outset, right?
Otherwise, what's the point?
and if the cost of the campaign didn't pay for itself out of it's own profits then I'd personally dip into my pocket for the purpose of the exercise to ensure that Geoff was not out of pocket at all.
And I can do that because I am confident that won't happen.
Now one could say... well why don't I fork it out from the outset.
Well, I don't NEED to in all honesty.
And I just wouldn't.
Part of anyones online success is being willing to invest in themselves and in their own business.
That way a person is more likely to take the steps shown, knowing they are paying for it themselves.
And it removes that "Fear Of Spending" on their own business that so many people have.
All in the safety blanket that if it didn't prove profitable (which believe me, just won't happen) I'd happily make up the difference, making sure that Geoff wasn't out of pocket.
And again, this is NOT something I would normally do... I can't run other peoples businesses for them, and I DO outline the exact money making strategies in DNFS.
However I AM willing to do it just to demonstrate that it works.
Incidentally, I haven't heard back from Geoff yet, so if someone else want's to volunteer... and then I'll be happy to go with whomever.
But I'm not prepared to invest my time (which is money) in someone who is too afraid to invest in themselves.
I hope that clarifies.
(like I have said I will personally ensure that whoever I work with is not out of pocket by even a penny! But I need to break their fear of spending on the right tools for their own business - and the only way to do that is to get them to shell out for what I recommend to them from the outset)
TAhir..well..If You"ld Like a Volunteer..I'ld humbly accept...I bought Your book last evening...just so you know Im serious. And granted...it was like being kinda slapped..maybe you dont Remember the 3 stooges..where Mo was always kind Of going..why ya knucklehead..so now its time...to do....so ..after reading through the first time..Ill do the second time....and start formultaing things that need to be in place.
And I do want to add...It is actually a breath of fresh air to see someone who actually reponds on their blog. Its a very nice touch.

I read Our Hero Dinny and could not stop laughing. In truth I had not laughed that hard in a very long time.
The interesting thing is the laughter was a mixture of ....how silly was that of Dinny and oh dear I've done that too.
I am sure you will get a lot of cofessions so i'll add this I bought 1000 of sure leads for an online venture I was promoting. Not one watched the FREE video!
My saving grace was that I had previously received one very good piece of advice and that was "test" before you go full blast. I beleive this saved me from buying any more sure leads.
And Safelists. Yep I have been on them. You know what? I just opened a free email address for the many hundreds of them. I never joined any ONE of those programs. It is a waste of money...EXCEPT you learn how to use them to your benefit. Dare I say that means running the safelist yourself!
I am very busy working on a project close to my heart right now (No not a Dinny!)so I have not yet bought "Dreams NOT for Sale" but I think I should.

Thanks for accepting my challenge – sorry about the delay in getting back to you I have spent the past week selling my body parts on ebay to get the money to buy your book….! (…you will never guess how much I got for my…??? – you don’t want to know!!!)
I can only say that IF I had spent ALL the money on just your book that I have spent in 18 months online ($1,000.00s) – I would have saved all those $1,000.00s!? Duh? – I think you know what I mean!
Your book is worth the money just for the fist few chapters alone (remember the old Sinclair computer?) – the rest I already knew (mostly) – actually I knew the first bit as well – I guess it’s like my tennis though, I have learned all the shots, but I need a coach to motivate me to practise them, refine them, know when and how to play them - to win a match.
So, I can see that I will have to become totally teetotal for the next few weeks – to afford the money to put the things you suggest into action however with your public PROMISE regarding the charity deal and with your training and mentoring – Lets’ Go For It…
So, Wealth, Fame and Fortune – here I come…(actually I will be happy enough at first if together Tahir we can ‘win a match or two’ (to get me out of debt!)
